Management Team
Clinical Director - Dr Julia Railson
Joined the network – 2019
I studied medicine at Warwick University and did my foundation years as a junior Doctor working at Northampton General Hospital. I joined the Northamptonshire GP training scheme and worked in a number of local GP Practices as well as a variety of hospital posts. I became a GP Partner at Saxon Spires Practice in 2015 and joined the PCN board at its formation in 2019. I became clinical director for the PCN in June 2020 and carry out this role on a part time basis in addition to my role as a GP at Saxon Spires Practice.
PCN Manager - Jeanette Hammersley
Joined the network – 2022
I began working within the NHS in 2009 and have gained extensive experience of Primary Care, particularly in my role as a Practice Manager which I held for 5 years before becoming the PCN Manager for Northamptonshire Rural PCN in 2022. I am excited to build on this experience within the PCN (Primary Care Network). In my role I support the clinical director and board members through communications and delivery of projects to fulfil the Network Contract.
PCN Support Officer – Stephanie Allen
Joined the network – 2020
I work closely with and support both Dr Railson and Jeanette Hammersley to ensure the smooth running of the PCN. In my role, I manage the PCN finances; assist with the recruitment of new roles within the PCN, book and assist with training of staff and co-ordinate meetings/events within the network.
I am not from an NHS background however am learning and developing in the ever-changing climate and I am excited to support the PCN as it continues to grow. Before I joined the PCN, I worked as an event planner and the skills gained in that role have helped immensely with the organisational side of being a support officer.
Social Prescribing and Wellbeing Team
Helen Blackburn - Social Prescribing Link Worker
My name is Helen and I am the Lead Social Prescriber and have been in post for coming up to 4yrs. My role is to first ask patients: what matters to you? I will then work with patients to find and refer to the most appropriate support. For example: Northamptonshire Carers, Housing Associations, food banks and community larders, domestic abuse, libraries, volunteer organisations, and many more.
Ellis Marshall - Social Prescribing Link Worker/Age Well Project Lead

My name is Ellis and I am a Social Prescribing Link Worker and Project Lead of the PCN's Ageing Well project. As a Social Prescribing Link Worker, I speak with patients about lots of different underlying social issues and can signpost and refer to the appropriate support. The PCN's Ageing Well Project is aimed at our over 65 patient demographic and is designed to promote independence and keep our patients living as well as can be into later life.
Lizz Charman - Social Prescribing Link Worker

My name is Lizz a recent SPLW having only started here in May.
My role is non-clinical, connecting patients to community groups and services that can support health and wellbeing, in a holistic way. I also address social, financial, emotional and practical needs, depending on what matters to the patient.

Rafica Ahmed - Clinical Pharmacist

My name is Rafica Ahmed and I am a Clinical Pharmacist working for the Saxon Spires Practice within Northamptonshire Rural PCN. I have a diploma in clinical pharmacy and I am also an independent prescriber. I have over 25 year’s experience leading community pharmacy at a senior level which I use to serve the patients within my practice and to deliver a high level of patient care.
Marcia Pereira - Clinical Pharmacist

My name is Marcia and I am one of the Clinical Pharmacists supporting Northamptonshire Rural PCN in delivering the Direct Enhanced Service (DES) contract specifications. I'm an experienced pharmacist with a Diploma in Management and an Independent Prescriber Qualification, and I'm based at The Saxon Spires Practice.
Katie Fulcher - Clinical Pharmacist

My name is Katie, I am the Clinical Pharmacist at Crick Medical Practice and have been here since 2019. I am an Independent Prescriber and have many years of experience as a pharmacist. My job primarily entails medication reviews, medicines management and any other medication related issues that crop up in the Practice. I enjoy being part of a general practice team and the varied and interesting work it produces.

I am a pharmacist with over 30 years of experience, which I use to support the patients at Byfield.

My name is Suzanne and I am one of the clinical pharmacists working in Northamptonshire Rural PCN. I am based at Greens Norton and Weedon Medical Practice. I am a relatively recent addition to the team joining in January 2022 after working in community pharmacy for 15 years. I'm currently in the process of completing my Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway and look to start my Independent Prescribing course towards the end of 2023.
Nadia Mogul - Clinical Pharmacist

My name is Nadia and I am a Clinical Pharmacist working for the Northamptonshire Rural PCN, I have over 20 years experience . I am an independent prescriber based at The Long Buckby Practice and joined in September 2022. I work closely alongside my team and take responsibility for medicines optimisation within the PCN and provide expert advice on clinical medicines whilst also carrying out structured medication reviews.

My name is Rabiyah Suleman. I am a Clinical Pharmacist working for Northamptonshire Rural PCN. Prior to this I have worked in Community Pharmacy for over 12 years in various roles including leadership roles. I am currently in the process of completing my Independent Prescribing course. I work alongside the practice team to support patients by undertaking medication reviews, optimising medication regimens and ensure we are prescribing safely to our patients through appropriate drug monitoring.

Sarah Little - First Contact Physiotherapist

My name is Sarah and I am a Physiotherapist by trade with over 30 years of experience . My FCP role means that as a patient you can have immediate access to me as a first point of contact without the need for a GP appointment regarding all things musculoskeletal including bone, joint, tendon and ligament issues. My role is to assess, diagnose, and begin the process of managing your condition with the option of being referred onwards for more in depth traditional Physiotherapy if it is required, or for investigation.
Muhammad Ahmed - First Contact Physiotherapist

I'm Muhammad Ahmed, a dedicated First Contact Practitioner (FCP) here at Northamptonshire Rural PCN. With a strong commitment to delivering comprehensive healthcare services, my goal is to provide high-quality care to our patients. As an FCP, I have a crucial role on the frontline healthcare team, conducting advanced clinical assessments, making diagnoses, and offering treatment options for various musculoskeletal conditions.
With 5 years of experience in the healthcare industry, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my position. I excel in performing thorough examinations, creating personalised treatment plans, and making appropriate referrals to specialists when needed. I firmly believe in prioritizing the needs of each patient, ensuring they receive the best possible care tailored to their specific requirements.
Haviz Khan - First Contact Physiotherapist

I am a qualified Physiotherapist and furthered my education with an MSc in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Commencing my professional journey straight after graduation, I worked as a rotational Physiotherapist, and gaining valuable experience in outpatient and inpatient settings. In both the NHS and private practice, my focus has been primarily in primary care, specializing as an MSK Physiotherapist. Currently, I serve as a First Contact Practitioner at the Advance Physiotherapy group in Northampton, extending services to various GP surgeries. My areas of expertise lie in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, and elderly rehabilitation.
Northamptonshire Rural PCN are pleased to work with Advanced Physiotherapy Group who provide us with a number of our first contact physiotherapists.
Podiatry
Richard Keating - Podiatrist

My name’s Richard Keating and I have been a qualified podiatrist now for 9 years. I have a well-rounded experience within my profession having previously worked in community foot care, private practice, university lecturing and orthopaedic hospital settings. I have been working with the PCN as the first point of contact Podiatrist for just over 2 years now.
Tracey Walker - Podiatrist

My name is Tracey Walker and I have been qualified as a podiatrist for over 25 years, gaining a BSc (Hons) in Podiatric Medicine from Glasgow Caledonian University. I have recently taken up the post of a First Contact Podiatrist where I will be able to draw on all my previous experiences and skills gained at the Greater Glasgow Health Board and Leicestershire Primary Care Trust. This role within the PCN was developed to help reduce GP workload and enable our patients to be seen by the right person, at the right time and to be given the right advice and/or treatment.
Paramedics
Miki Sims - Paramedic
Based at Greens Norton and Weedon Medical Practice.
My name is Miki, and I work as an ACP at Weedon Surgery, with just under 25 years experience. I learnt my craft working for London Ambulance Service, later moving to South East Coast Ambulance Service where I did my Masters course in Advanced Practice, closely followed by my prescribing course. I work as part of the "on the day" Duty GP Team seeing acute illness and injury, carry out Home Visits and telephone triage. I work closely with patients who require follow up treatment and ensure they get the optimal treatment that works for them.
Louise De Groot - Paramedic

Matthew Flounders - Paramedic

My name is Matthew, and I am currently working as a prescribing paramedic practitioner within the Saxon Spires practice. I have over 20 years’ experience working across a variety of settings such as NHS frontline ambulance services (Scotland/England), international remote sites, and primary care practices.
My existing role in primary care as a paramedic is to take a holistic approach when seen and treating patients presenting with acute on the day minor injury or illness presentations and undertake home visit for house bound patients when required.
Care Co-ordinators
Stacey Burningham - Care Co-ordinator
I'm Stacey Burningham I work at Saxons Spires Surgery and have done so for over 9 years. I am a HCA but recently also taken the role of Primary Acute liaison Care Co-ordinator. It is is both a very important and fulfilling role. I work closely with our GP's and practice nurses here as well and other care professionals identifying and managing caseloads making sure patients are supported post discharge from hospital protecting their own health and devising a recovery plan ensuring that theirs and their carer’s needs are met and that any changing needs are addressed. I also work with the child immunisation nurses at both sites helping to keep the vaccination schedules of our younger patients on track and keeping Childrens Services updated with immunisations given.
Caroline Smith - Care Co-ordinator, Age Well Team

My role is community based. Which involves working with people, who could be older or frail to promote living well and independently at home. To offer individualised needs led support when you need it.
Julianna Starling - Care Co-ordinator
Based at Byfield Medical Practice
My name is Julianna and I am based at Byfield Medical Centre. I started working for Byfield in October 2021. I prepare Health Promotion boards, follow up referrals for the 2week waits (check if the patient has an appointment, been seen and outcome of referral). Coding for clinical indicators on our clinical system and send out health promotion/public health indicator texts or telephone patients to book in for relevant check-ups or information required for coding.
Amber Boyson - Safeguarding Co-ordinator
Based at Weedon and Greens Norton Medical Centre.
My name is Amber Boyson and I began working in the NHS when I left school in 2017 and have been doing safeguarding within the practice since then. I have recently taken over my new role of Safeguarding Care Co-Ordinator for the practice and I have gained so much experience throughout the years of being here. I manage all of the Safeguarding within the surgeries across both sites as well as Frailty and Palliative. It is a very rewarding role and getting our patients the care they need is our main priority.

Children’s/Young People’s Mental Health Support
James has worked with children and adolescents for over 20 years as they are the adults of the future.
He is a designated practitioner for Northamptonshire Rural PCN.
He will be offering consultations to young people presenting with mental health concerns.
He will also offer more in depth assessment where appropriate. Aiming to signpost individuals to the right services to meet their needs.
